Writers are meant to be resilient. And bouncing back from adversity is a great stimulus to writing great prose and sometimes sharing an important social message. Usually, we let our struggle with angst invest itself in the lives of our characters, but sometimes there is a small reflection of ourselves in the story. The Quebec Writers Federation put out a call recently for 500-word pieces on how its members are bearing up during the Covid-19 pandemic. There is a treasure trove of fascinating human tales in this collection, which many of us will re-read long after the current crisis has passed. I would like to share with you here my contribution "Fear." I hope you enjoy it.
