I will be part of a round table on February 24 at 4:30 pm with Véronique Rivest, one of the most respected sommeliers on the national and international scenes. The event is taking place on the Jacques Poirier stage. The other panelists are:

Alexandre Jardin, French writer, film-maker and pamphleteer,
Jean Marc Dalpé, actor, poet, novelist, playwright, translator and screenwriter.

Launch of French translation of Quill of the Dove

La colombe, the French translation of my novel Quill of the Dove, will be launched by Éditions David and the Teesri Duniya Theatre on October 26, 2023 from 7 pm to 8:30 pm at the Salle de communauté, Musée des Hospitalières de l’Hôtel-Dieu de Montréal, 201 avenue des Pins Ouest, Montréal. Ehab Lotayef, author of To Love a Palestinian Woman and chief organizer of The Canadian Boat to Gaza will provide the introductory remarks. The novel centres around a private peace initiative to end the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict with flashback chapters to the civil war in Lebanon. It has also been translated and published in Spanish and German. There will be French and English copies available at the launch as well as complimentary beverages and food. The event is free and everyone is welcome.

La colombe, la traduction française de mon roman Quill of the Dove, sera lancée par les Éditions David et le Théâtre Teesri Duniya le 26 octobre 2023 de 19 h à 20 h 30 à la Salle de communauté, Musée des Hospitalières de l'Hôtel-Dieu de Montréal, 201 avenue des Pins Ouest, Montréal. Launch of French translation of Quill of the Dove

La colombe, the French translation of my novel Quill of the Dove, will be launched by Éditions David on Thursday, October 12 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Librairie du soleil, 33 George Street, Ottawa. The novel tells the story of Marc Taragon, a French journalist who is trying to launch a peace initiative to end the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Taragon is helped in this endeavour by Marie Boivin, a Canadian journalist who is searching for the truth about her own childhood, following her encounter with Taragon. La colombe has also been translated and published in Spanish and German. The event is free and everyone is welcome.

Launch of The Unending Journey - English Translation

I will be launching my first translation from Spanish, The Unending Journey by José Del Pozo. Beatriz Hausner, past president of the Literary Translators' Association of Canada, will moderate the discussion with the author, publisher (Silvia Alfaro) and myself. The Unending Journey chronicles five decades of Chilean and Canadian history. The main character, Marcos Morales, is a supporter of the progressive policies of President Salvador Allende. After the 1973 coup d’état by General Augusto Pinochet against Allende, Marcos decides to leave Chile for Canada. His wife Gabriela and young daughter Loreto accompany him. In Montreal, he slowly rebuilds his professional life but is plagued by the guilt of not staying in Chile to resist the dictatorship.

Montreal Book Launch for the Marginal Ride Anthology

November 17 is a unique opportunity to meet five of the eight Canadian and American contributors to The Marginal Ride Anthology. Halifax Book Launch of Quill of the Dove - Writers' Federation of Nova Scotia

The final leg of my Cross-Canada Launch of Quill of the Dove will take place on June 1, 2019 at the Writers' Federation of Nova Scotia, 1113 Marginal Road, Halifax. It will be a great wrap-up of the five-city tour starting in Vancouver (April 6), Toronto (April 14), Montreal (May 2) and Ottawa (May 5). I will be joined by some fabulous Canadian writers and poets: George Elliott Clark, Michael Mirolla, Giovanna Riccio, Steven Mayoff, Jacqueline Dumas and Chad Norman. Books are being handled by the Bookmark Halifax bookstore. I hope to see all my Atlantic Canadian friends there :)

First Public Reading of Quill of the Dove

I will be reading from my new novel, Quill of the Dove, at the Ottawa Independent Writers' Summer Reading Evening. Quill of the Dove will be published in early Spring 2019 by Guernica Editions so sorry, there won't be any books for sale at this first public reading of the novel, but I hope you will come and enjoy the evening :)

MECA 3 - Toronto

After two highly successful events in Ottawa, the Magical Evening with Canadian Authors came to Toronto on September 22, 2013. Five novelists from Toronto, Montreal and Aylmer, Quebec read from their recently published novels and new works of fiction. The evening was moderated by Sang Kim, the winner of 2013 Gloria Vanderbilt—Exile Short Story Prize for his story When John Lennon Died and the author of Ballad of a Karaoke Cowboy.
