From Toronto to Montreal with Books

I enjoyed a wonderful Sunday lunch as a guest of my publisher, Guernica Editions, at the stunning Toula Restaurant in Toronto. Located on the 38th floor of One Harbourfront, the restaurant boasts one of the best views in Toronto. The occasion was the International Visitors Program of the International Festival of Authors where Canadian publishers and foreign publishers get together to discuss business. In my case, it was to pitch translation rights for my second novel, Quill of the Dove, to German publishers in the lead-up to Frankfurt 2020 when Canada will be the guest of honour. I will cross my fingers on this. The next stop for pitching translation rights, this time for French, will be at the Salon du Livre de Montréal on November 15, where Guernica Editions will be represented. There is certainly no rest for the weary author when it comes to book promotion, but it is a lot of fun :)
