Podcast Interview with Ottawa Author Blaise Ndala
Updated: Apr 21
I recently did a podcast interview with Blaise Ndala, the author of J'irai danser sur la tombe de Senghor. The interview is in French and can be heard here.
In his novel, Blaise Ndala takes the reader to Zaire in 1974 to witness the "fight of the century" between Muhammad Ali and George Foreman. But J'irai danser sur la tombe de Senghor is much more than a boxing story. In a lively and incisive style, the author takes us behind the scenes of this epic fight: the decolonization of Africa, the rivalry between the Zairean leader Mobutu Sese Seko and the Senegalese president Leopold Senghor, the music, the poetry and the magic of the continent.
