The Dance Card is Filling Up

It's been a busy summer. I had the pleasure of editing with Tim Niedermann Deux Voiliers Publishing's first anthology, The Marginal Ride. It includes some great short stories from seasoned authors, including Michael Mirolla, Ursula Pflug, Sang Kim, Caroline Vu, Jerry Levy, Geza Tatrallyay and, of course, Tim, and I also have two stories in it. The anthology is now at the printers and will be launched at the beginning of October. I am also wrapping up my first full-length novel translation. It is a beautiful book by Chilean-Canadian author, José del Pozo Artigas, called El Viaje Interminable (The Unending Journey). The translation from Spanish to English will be launched sometime this autumn by Editorial Mapalé, an Ottawa-based press, which publishes in Spanish, French and English. Just as these projects leave the pipeline, another is entering it. I learned this week that I will be translating Choisir Éléonore, an award-winning novella by Andrée A. Gratton, for my publisher, Guernica Editions. The novella was published in 2015 by Éditions de la Pleine Lune and went on to win the Prix littéraire « Découverte » du Salon du livre du Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean and was a finalist for the Grand Prix littéraire Archambault. All good fun and keeping me out of trouble!
